Honolulu, Hawaii—Jiyeon “Jenny” Kim has been promoted to Marketing Communications Manager at PacRim Marketing Group.  She will develop, lead, and execute communications programs supporting clients’ objectives in coordination with PacRim Marketing Group’s Integrated Marketing Services (IMS) business unit, while using her professional experience, cultural and language expertise in the Korean market.
 
Jenny previously was a Korean Market Specialist and Editor at PacRim Marketing Group. As a lead Korean strategist for the firm, Jenny has contributed to successful client marketing and sales promotions, public relations, digital marketing, social media management, and advertising.  Her editorial work on PacRim Marketing Group’s Korean website about Hawaii, www.MyHawaii.kr, won a PRSA (Public Relations Society of America) Koa Hammer award in 2013 for the “Hawaii Style” video parody of PSY’s Korean music video, “Gangnam Style,” recognized for creatively promoting international travel to the Islands through viral online marketing.
 
“Jenny has been instrumental in increasing brand awareness and meeting additional success metrics such as website traffic, promotional activations, and conversions for clients targeting Korean international travelers, while separately boosting the popularity of our own Korean website about Hawaii and its Korean social media platforms,” said Kimberly Fujinaka, Director of Integrated Marketing.  “She has a keen sense of how to combine traveler and consumer behaviors, cultural and Asian language nuances, and destination marketing with market research and analytics, achieving measurable results for clients across our entire portfolio including hotel, retail, luxury brand, and restaurants.”
 
Prior to joining PacRim Marketing Group in 2010, Jenny worked with the Legislative Research Council in Pierre, South Dakota, and as a journalist for The Korean Channel in New York.  She also taught at the Korean Cultural School in Honolulu, Hawaii, and was a journalist and translator at International Mid Pac Colleges in Honolulu.
 
Jenny holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Northern State University in South Dakota and is currently working on her Master of Arts degree at the University of Hawaii.  She began her education in at Hanyang University in South Korea, before transferring to Dongguk University as an English Education and Geography Education double major.
